In a series of 14 detailed models entitled Rêveries Urbaines (Urban Daydreaming) Danish design duo Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec present imagined solutions for nature to thrive in cities.
The models transport the viewer into an abstract world of oversized vines, torches, parasols and pebbles giving public spaces a new sense of “magic” and a futuristic feel.
It’s interesting to observe the role of scale in these projects where the lines of nature and man-made are blurred into one. Each installation has a beautiful ornamental quality where every composition is intentional and has a curious sense of adventure and exploration
The project was on exhibition at Vitra Fire Station, Germany; the first architectural project by award-winning architect Zaha Hadid (1950-2016).
